Apr 23, 2018 · For concrete, the formula for volume is as follows: length x width x thickness. To determine how many bags of concrete you will need, divide the total cubic yards needed by the yield. Use the following yields per each bag size: 40 pound bag yields .011 cubic yards. 60 pound bag yields .017 cubic yards. I'd guess we spent about $600 for everything. Forms, concrete, grinder, plywood, epoxy, etc. We used a concete/grout mix that cost $12 a 40 or 80 lb bag. Not the cheaper regular concrete at $3 a bag. I'd have to guess that if my husband and I could do this, just about anyone could. We love our counters and would do it again (with forms, though).
